Please review our Business License Information Packet for information about how to apply for a license to operate a business within the City of Atascadero. Application fees are listed on the back of each application, and reflect the adopted fees included in the Fee Schedule (effective 7/28/2025). Additional fees may apply for the downtown area. Businesses Located INSIDE Atascadero City Limits

Home Occupation Business License Application - please complete this packet which includes Application, Zoning & Building Information page, and Home Occupation Conditions page for the following:

• Businesses using a residential property as their business location including mobile businesses
• Vacation Rentals (a site plan is also required)
• Cottage Food Operations

Commercial Business License Application - please complete this packet which includes Application, Zoning & Building Information page, and a site plan for the following:

• New commercial
• Commercial change of location
• Commercial change of owner/name
• Sub Tenant in commercial location
• Sub Tenant change of location
• Mobile Food Vendor
• Solicitor
• Non-profit

The following are also required for applicable businesses:

• Active CSLB License
• San Luis Obispo County Health Permit
• CAMTC Certificate

Businesses Located OUTSIDE Atascadero City Limits

Business License Application - please use this application for the following:

• Out-of-town vendor
• Out-of-town contractor (annual business license or one job only)
• Mobile Food Vendor
• Solicitor

Special Event Permit Application (For special/temporary events)

Cannabis Business License Application (For out-of-town cannabis delivery services)
